Youth Ministry

Sunday school kids in choir

Children’s enthusiastic expressions of faith can help transform the church and everyone in it. To assist children in fully participating in their church communities and in exploring their own ministries, we provide imaginative, innovative resources for the children. The children participate in our worship and they are called Acolytes/Crucifers.

Pre-K through High School. Parents have the option of dropping off their child or staying for the evening, when the adults also gather in a comfortable setting to discuss and interpret the lessons and verses among themselves. There is no fee for this program.

The goal is to have this be a program of fellowship, Christian formation and renewal for our families. Contact the office @ 301-884-3451 if you have questions.

Starting at age 7 and to adults. For more information regarding Acolytes and their duties, please view the Administration of Liturgical Lay Participation Memorandum.

Liturgy in the Episcopal Church is both the work of the people, and work done for the people. In the ancient Mediterranean world, liturgy referred to public festivals, spectacles, and shows for which prominent Roman citizens often paid. In church, it simply means what we do when we worship together. Those who feel called and are trained to lead liturgical worship are essential to making this experience nourishing and renewing for the entire congregation. It is a sacred calling, and we are grateful for all who serve in these roles
